Barker Field is located in Richmond's Byrd Park, toward the South end, directly across Park Drive from Maymont Park, which is Richmond's Zoo.  Written or spoken directions are made complex because the main road thru the area, The Boulevard, has several different names, so I hope the maps are helpful getting there. Click on the small images below and a they will show up in another browser window.

Byrd Park is located in the middle of Richmond, surrounded by residential area, close to the James River. Here is a close up showing where Barker Field is located in Byrd Park:

When you get close to Barker Field, the Carillon, Richmond's World War One Memorial, at 240 feet, is an easy landmark to spot.  Barker Field is just South of, behind, the Carillon:

If you don't need the expressway, this map shows the approaches from the North down The Boulevard and from the South on Westover Hills Boulevard and across the 'Nickel Bridge':

If you'll be using the expressway, the brown dots on this map show how to get to Barker Field from the Powhite Parkway & Downtown Expressway, from the North and the South.  These roads _also_ change names a few times on the way thru town so a map is helpful.  Approaching from the South on the Powhite Parkway, bear right toward the Downtown Expressway after crossing the James River, and be prepared to take the first exit to the right, which is the last exit before the toll, at Maplewood.  Approaching from the North, after running alongside the railroad tracks and passing Cary Street, bear right towards the Powhite Parkway (not to Downtown), and take the Douglasdale Road exit:
