Barker Field Rules as at March 3rd, 2007:
- The City of Richmond
and the Friends of Barker Field are not responsible or liable for any
injury to your person or property while you are in the park area.
- Barker Field is open 7 days a week from sunrise to
sunset unless otherwise posted for special events. (Sec. 26-397)
- All persons entering the dog park are responsible for
the animals they bring in. Please
closely supervise your dog as you will be held liable for any damages
inflicted by your dog to persons, pets, and property.
- All dogs must be leashed when not within the confines
of Barker Field. (Sec.10-175)
- Please clean up after your dog and yourself. Place all waste and litter in proper
receptacles. Let's keep the dog park
clean and safe for all to enjoy.

- No dogs deemed 'Dangerous' may enter the dog
park. (Sec. 10-171)
- No intact (un-neutered) males are allowed in the dog
park.
- No female dogs in heat are allowed in the dog
park. (Sec. 10-173)
- All dogs within the dog park must wear a collar with
proper license attached. (Sec.
10-147)
- All dogs within the dog park must have a current rabies
vaccination and the vaccination tag on their collar. (Sec. 10-286, Sec. 10-287)
- The Friends of Barker Field strongly encourage all
dogs be current on all vaccinations including bordetella.
- There is no food, alcohol, or glass bottles allowed
inside the dog park.

- Please be respectful of both people and pets using
the dog park. Refrain from using
foul language and lewd behavior.

- Please discourage your dog from any mounting behavior
and respect the wishes of other dog owners.
- Please refill any holes dug by your dog.
- This is a dog park.
Dog parks, for many reasons, are not a safe place for small
children. Children under the age of
8 are not allowed in the dog park.
Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.
